Common Name: Catmint
Neptune Nepeta, brings us huge blue flowers on a truly dwarf plants. Its flowers, that are considerably larger than most, produce big displays of blossoms throughout the spring, summer and fall. Neptune’s clumping growth habit stays tidy and won’t take over. It only grows about 12″ tall and 10″ wide, making it ideal for edging, front of perennial beds, around roses, and for narrow walkways.
Color, performance and production align perfectly in nepeta ‘Neptune’ (‘Bokratune’ PP29556). This amazing cultivar is such a different perennial catmint that it captures attention like no other. An international award winner, it has spikes of cheerful violet blue flowers that bloom from summer through fall and won’t flop like other catmints can. With a little deadheading, it will even rebloom for an extended show.
Neptune Catmint is long-lived, easy to care for, and deer and rabbit resistant. An excellent low growing plant that is tolerant of considerable drought. Flourishes in full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil. Attracts bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. Its spicy aromatic foliage is irresistible to cats, which love to nap along side it. Rabbit and deer leave it alone. Trim back spent flowers to encourage more blooms.
