F. glauca prefers average, well-drained soils in full sun. Tolerant of drought, salt, heat and humidity. Is prone to center rot if grown in soils that remain wet during the winter. Spreads via rhizomes. Cut foliage to the ground in early spring to maintain neat appearance. Division in spring or fall.
